By doing this, the Radio Show had effectively exposed the Klan's rituals and what they stood for to the general public, especially children, which had a large impact on Klan recruitment at the time. The producers agreed to the idea, and the serial 'Clan of the Fiery Cross ' ran for 16 parts, incorporating Kennedy's research. However, Kennedy realized that he would be unable to tackle such a feat alone, and reached out to the producers of the Superman Radio Show, and proposed that Superman fight the Klan. At the peak of its popularity, Stetson Kennedy, a human rights activist, had infiltrated the Klu Klux Klan in an effort to understand and expose the organization by learning their methods. During the 1940's, the Adventures of Superman radio show was a massive hit, and introduced several key elements of Superman lore such as Kryptonite, Perry White, and Jimmy Olsen. While this story is excellent, the history behind this title is an equally fascinating look into the past. The Klan is ultimately thwarted and arrested, thanks to Roberta, Tommy, and Superman's efforts. While Roberta struggles to fit into her new community, Superman also struggles with visions of his past life on Krypton, and tries his best to be 'normal.' Eventually, Roberta finds acceptance from Jimmy, Lois, and her new friends as Superman finally accepts his alien heritage, and vows to continue his fight against injustice. Clark Kent and Lois Lane do everything in their power to report on the situation, and report on the Klan's crimes, while Superman protects the Lee's from the Klan. However, the Lees immediately become the target of the Metropolis branch of the Klan, who burn a cross on their front lawn. Roberta and her brother Tommy make fast friends with Jimmy Olsen, cub reporter at the Daily Planet, and Tommy joins the youth Baseball league.

The story took place in 1946, and simultaneously follows both Superman coming to terms with his Kryptonian heritage, and the Lee family, a Chinese American Family, moving into inner Metropolis.
